Fishing New Marske Reservoir 21/3/2018

So woke up to the sun shining both sides of the edge back, it looked like a good day for fishing. Setting off at 7.30am, I decided to go to a new fishing spot that I've never been to never mind fished, but the king of the lake said that it was a cracking place with a good mixture of fish. Hutton Rudby here we come.
We arrived at the ponds seeing that another member was already there. We started to unload the car getting  ready to carry and push our gear over the field to the ponds when the other member returned to say that the ponds where FROZEN. No!!!!. Packing up the the car we debated where to go. We decided to travel back nearer to home.
We thought New Marske reservoir wouldn't be frozen considering it was nearer the cost. On arrival we were devastated 'cormorants' had taken residency on the pond/lake. So having the fish spooked by the cormorants and the water freezing things were not looking good. The chances of catching anything were slim to none, but not want to miss out being on the bank the King of the lake choose our swim, me peg 15 and Jeff 14. I was going to give traditional baits a go today, so my choice was sweetcorn.
                                                            A little camera shy

Also today I was going to make our first fishing video for YouTube to show the real side of fishing. Not to bad for first attempt, I hope you think, can only get better! Back to fishing, the feeder was the way to go for me, a cage on a running rig with ground bait, brown bread and Hemp seed, a hooklink of 6 inch, size 10 hook with 2 pieces of corn on a hair rig. We both didn't have a bite all day, we fished till about 2pm as you can see from the video. Next time hopefully we will have some fish on the bank as the weather warms up. https://youtu.be/A_dFX1kizC4
